I grew up in Vail, AZ. I rode horses competitively and did sprint triathlons during college. I have always been involved in fitness. However, I was getting bored of the same redundant workouts and I could tell this training technique wasn't working for my clients. I found CrossFit in 2013. I fell in love with the constantly varied workouts.
Since adopting CrossFit, I have never been stronger and it's amazing for me to see the progress I have made. I enjoy training others and love seeing the results that occur from the high intensity training. In 2014 I attended the CrossFit Level 1 Trainer course, which allowed me to fully understand the methodology and teachings of Greg Glassman. I took this new knowledge and applied it to my own training regimen, as well as the classes I was coaching. Since then I attended the CrossFit Level 2 Coach's Prep course, which tested my skills as a coach. It furthered my knowledge and techniques in the execution of CrossFit's training methods.
As a coach I pride myself in my openness to new ideas and strive to continue my education. I want to provide a facility that caters to multiple demographics. I want the opportunity to coach athletes of all skill levels as well as providing a CrossFit experience that combines traditional and current coaching methods.

I'm originally from San Antonio, Texas and lived there until I joined the Army in 1991. The military was the beginning of my aviation career where I spent most of my years working on helicopters. After leaving the military I spent some time doing contract work before finding a home in the federal government. It was during my transition into Federal work where I found my deeper desire to focus on physical fitness.
It was in 2013 when I was introduced to Crossfit through an old Air Force buddy… and I never looked back. In 2018 I decide to take my passion for Crossfit to the next level and became a Crossfit Trainer. It was at Iron Grip Crossfit that I was given the opportunity to coach and really explore my passion for instructing.
While my passion is to help every athlete reach his or her goals, my drive is to ensure every athlete reaches those goals in the safest way possible. I don't just want to help you through the workout but to guide you through technique, form, and the building of the confident mind set to make Crossfit as much of a passion for you as it is for me.

Watching the 2016 Crossfit Games documentary on Netflix started this whole journey. Those 105 minutes were well spent and changed my life! Whatever your motivation for wanting to try Crossfit, I would say one thing … GO! There's nothing like it!

My initial exposure to CrossFit was when I was stationed at Osan Air Base in South Korea where I found a community of people willing to grind through workouts at 5am with me. I had always loved group fitness classes like cycling and step aerobics, but wanted to challenge myself with new movements and lifts that I hadn't tried before. I loved that programming and coaching meant all I had to do was show up, and it was motivating to workout with familiar faces each day. I liked that I could actually see changes in my body and performance. As a coach, I love introducing athletes to movements they have never done before and watching them progress through their fitness journeys.

I was raised in Safford Arizona and stayed very active in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2003 with my bachelors in Corporate Fitness and Wellness and minors in Exercise Science and Health Education. Graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018 with a Masters of Business Administration.
I have been married since 2005 and we have two teenagers that are very active in baseball and softball.
I started CrossFit in 2009 and started coaching in 2013. I love to work with all age groups from 3 years old and up. My main goal as a coach is to help people and assist people in living a happier and healthier life.

I was born in Chicago, IL and at the age of 10 moved to Howard County, MD. I joined the Air Force at 19 and spent the next 24 years on active duty all over the world. It was during my military career that I discovered a love of teaching/instructing. After retiring in 2019, my wife and I transitioned from a local HIIT fitness establishment to Iron Grip CrossFit. I had done physical conditioning, training, and team sports my entire life; I even tried this "new thing called CrossFit" while deployed in 2010 – that didn't go really well. So when the HIIT training missed the mark in the strength department, I started down the YouTube rabbit hole of what fitness really was – enter Mr. Rich Froning and the CrossFit media special FRONING: The Fittest Man in History. I was hooked on what the human body was actually capable of and wanted to test this on myself with a new goal of being an aspiring Masters Athlete. Still remembering my previous experience, the hardest part of joining this fitness community was walking through the door. I realized my previous mistake was trying to go it alone. A good CrossFit gym, coach and community of athletes makes all the difference.
After being coached correctly in proper technique and movement patterns, my actual fitness journey began. The CrossFit methodology works and will transform your entire life. My job as a coach is to open this door for people, anyone, who wants to be as fit as they can – to live life to its fullest.

I started my CrossFit journey in 2012 after my twin sister told me how fun it was. At that time I was a 35 year old mother of two struggling with my fitness, or lack there of. I was overweight and unhappy. I had tried running, gym memberships, P90x…everything! None of those kept my interest or gave me the results I was looking for. When I tried my first CrossFit class I knew it was going to be different and I was hooked. As a coach, I love having the opportunity to help members achieve their goals and share my love and knowledge of CrossFit.
